Location: City of Syracuse
Job Description
Plan and perform all work in the layout, installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electronic apparatus and devices.
Education and Experience- Advanced knowledge of electronics equivalent to two years accredited technical school training, an Associate’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two additional years of practical experience.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Must provide own hand tools including pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, VOM grounded outlet tester, hex drivers, hex keys, hacksaw, scribe, etc. Work from ladders, scaffolds, bucket trucks for outdoor work.
- Knowledge of personal computers, LANs, coaxial cable fabrication and installation, and related technologies.
- Install, maintain, and repair alarm systems including Fire Alarm, Building Security systems (Card Access systems and CCTV).
- Maintain building security systems, scoreboards, personal computers, and other electronic equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair or replace components.
- Test, adjust, and repair electronic instruments.
- Work from blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Set up and perform minor repair of personal computers and local area networks.
- Perform preventative maintenance on building systems such as fire alarms, emergency lights, low‑voltage lighting, P/A systems, electronic clock systems, two‑way radios, and scoreboards.
Must be able to use ladders, scaffolds, bucket trucks, and other equipment. Must provide own hand tools as listed above.
