Position:
Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Location - Syracuse, NY
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30)
Duration: 26 Weeks
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a night shift travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced intensive care environment while providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including cardiac rhythms and vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation using the facility's electronic medical record system.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and changes in patient condition.
- Float to other units within the nurse's skill set as needed at management discretion.
- Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience.
- Active RN License in the state of New York.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification.
- Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills.
- Must pass a hospital-proctored rhythm identification exam with:
- ≥ 80% accuracy in rhythm identification
- 100% accuracy in identifying critical rhythms
- Experience with Epic electronic charting system.
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required.
