American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics position in Syracuse, NY, requiring 3+ years of acute care experience and an active NY RN license.
Responsibilities- Located on a 140-bed Medical/Surgical Orthopedic unit (6 South)
- Serves as both a dedicated ortho unit and med/surg overflow
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- No blocked scheduling
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 on night shift
- Charts using Epic EMR
- 16-week contract
- Fast-paced environment combining orthopedic specialty care and med/surg overflow
- Any color scrubs are acceptable
- Two supervisor or manager references from within the last year are required for consideration
- A skills checklist completed within the last 12 months is required for consideration
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and are subject to a different pay rate
- Active and clear NY RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of acute care Med/Surg experience required
- Orthopedic nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience strongly preferred given unit use
