Our unit cares for patients admitted to our hospitalist service with specialties in a variety of acute medical and respiratory conditions.

We provide a collaborative environment with support from the charge nurse and onsite virtual nurses to meet patient needs.

• Collaborate, communicate & facilitate optimal provision of care through computerized and/or digital platforms to support daily management of care.

• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the patient’s plan of care from admission to discharge.

• Utilize clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and case management and adult education principles to coordinate and support the plan of care.

• Monitor quality metrics specific to the department and ensure complete and accurate documentation in the patient record.

• Ensure quality care is rendered in accordance with applicable regulatory and professional standards.

• Maintain current knowledge of healthcare economics, trends, and reimbursement methodologies and apply knowledge to daily practice; recognize situations needing immediate intervention; continue professional development.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York.

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred, in accordance with NYS requirements.

• Specialty credentialing and educational degree preferred according to clinical practice area.

• Maintains all licensures and certifications as required by NYS regulations and specialty areas.

• Participation in continuing education to maintain knowledge and skills in areas of expertise.

Pay Range: $37.60 - $58.35 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under FLSA are paid within the base salary range. The range may vary by location.
