Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Location - Syracuse, NY
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse (PICU RN) to join a high-acuity pediatric critical care team. This role is ideal for clinicians with strong critical care skills who thrive in a fast-paced, trauma-capable hospital environment and are committed to delivering exceptional pediatric patient care.
Shift Details
- Shift: Night Shift
- Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts
- Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Holidays: As required
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to pediatric ICU patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
- Monitor and manage critically ill pediatric patients in a high-acuity environment
- Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, and families to ensure optimal outcomes
- Accurately document care and clinical findings in the electronic medical record
- Deliver patient care with minimal orientation while maintaining high safety and quality standards
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center
- BLS certification (must be current or able to recertify)
- Strong pediatric critical care assessment and clinical judgment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience using EPIC Electronic Medical Records
- Prior experience in pediatric trauma or high-acuity ICU settings
