Our Emergency Department is a fast‑paced team of interdisciplinary professionals ready to promote and restore health to all who enter. We divide into four major zones (waiting area, registration area, triage area, patient care areas) providing efficient care for all specialties and all ages. RN opportunities range from minor injuries in the Speed Unit to cardiac arrest and trauma. The department offers paid training for ACLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC and a comprehensive orientation program.
New staff are encouraged to work towards certification, which is recognized and compensated by the hospital. We offer flexible scheduling and our goal is to provide consistent, excellent care to all patients.
The Registered Nurse participates in various roles to ensure quality patient care is provided with optimum outcomes. RN roles range from direct patient care to supervisory or consultative services in various settings within our network. Our dedicated nursing staff attend orientation classes that may include CORE EKG, end‑of‑life, respiratory care, and many specialty classes depending on area of expertise.

- Collaborate, communicate, and facilitate optimal provision of care through a computerized and/or digital platform supporting daily management of care.
- Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the patient’s plan of care from admission to discharge.
- Utilize clinical knowledge and critical‑thinking skills and the principles of case management and adult education to coordinate, implement, and support the plan of care.
- Monitor quality metrics specific to the department and ensure complete, accurate documentation in the patient record.
- Ensure quality care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Regulatory Agencies, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.
- Maintain current knowledge of basic health care economics, trends, and reimbursement methodologies and apply that knowledge to daily practice. Recognize situations that require immediate intervention. Continue to develop professionally and apply knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to each patient.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York.
- Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) preferred according to NYS requirements.
- Specialty credentialing & educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area preferred.
- Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements.
- Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
GN’s or RN’s with < 1‐year experience should apply to the Graduate Nurse Residency positions.
