Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Oncology Supportive ONcology Coordinator

Responsibilities
  • Under limited supervision, oversees and administers supportive oncology education, counseling, and support for patients and/or families.
  • Coordinates, leads, and supports clinical activities within area of expertise.
  • Will provide training, guidance, and professional leadership to doctors and clinical staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Licensure and Certification Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice as NP in NYS with National NP certification and DEA registration.
  • Masters Degree from an accredited NP program
  • Physician Assistant - Certified
  • Two or more years of experience caring for adults in an oncology or palliative setting as RN, NP
  • BLS and ACLS

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • 3 years of experience as a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant
  • Experience prescribing pain medication
  • Effective Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • EPEC, ELNEC or CPAC training preferred or training with similar content is acceptable.
