Description:
Upstate Community Medical, PC at Upstate Community Hospital is recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) to join our ICU / Critical Care inpatient team. We are welcome applications from both full-time and part-time candidates.
The PA/NP will work independently with physician supervision and have direct responsibility for clinical management of patients admitted to the critical care unit at Upstate Community Hospital. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily rounding and complete care and management of patients admitted to the ICU.
- Develops and implements patient treatment care plans, records progress notes, and monitors therapeutic interventions in collaboration with ICU attending physicians.
- Proficient in performing a variety of procedures including but not limited to central line placement, arterial line placement, and thoracentesis.
- Provide ICU consults to inpatient services and the Emergency Department at Upstate Community Hospital.
- Participation in patient rounds and respond to nursing or acute care calls.
- Active involvement in continuous learning and staff education.
- Collaborate as a member of an interdisciplinary critical care team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- This full-time position is ideal for a highly motivated PA or NP who wants to contribute to Upstate Community Hospital’s growing ICU / Critical Care service.
- NYS license
- ACLS & BLS required
- Current CPR
- NCCPA Certification or NP ANCC
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in critical care.
Schedule:
We offer flexible scheduling to support both full-time and part-time positions.
- Full-Time – Three (3) 12-hour shifts per week, including weekend, night and holiday coverage.
- Part-Time – Flexible shift options to be discussed during the interview process, with weekend, night, and holiday coverage as applicable.
