Join our exceptional and resilient team known for quality care and excellent outcomes. We are offering a $6,000 sign‑on bonus for experienced Registered Nurses (RN) who join us. This unit is part of our new and advanced Virtual Connected Care™ Together Team nursing model, integrating experienced telemedicine RNs into care assignments to support workload management. We provide a comprehensive orientation program and opportunities for continued education and growth.
Schedules include 8‑hour Evening, 8‑hour Night (or rotating 8 E/N), 12D/12N Rotation, 12‑hour Night, and Baylor positions (higher base pay rate).
Unit D5 is a cardiovascular step‑down unit caring for patients admitted for interventional cardiac procedures, medical cardiology, vascular surgery, and the designated stroke unit. We serve patients with a variety of acute medical, cardiac, vascular, and respiratory conditions, monitoring class I telemetry and managing cardiac drips. Specialized training includes CORE EKG classes and stroke certification. St. Joseph’s Health is an American Heart Association Cardiovascular Center of Excellence and was named a Top 100 Hospital for Heart Surgery and a Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital by IBM Watson Health.

- Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the patient’s plan of care from admission to discharge.
- Utilize clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and case‑management principles to coordinate, implement, and support care plans.
- Monitor quality metrics specific to the department and ensure complete and accurate documentation in the patient record.
- Ensure quality care is rendered to all patients in accordance with New York Regulatory Agencies, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards.
- Maintain current knowledge of basic health care economics, trends, and reimbursement methodologies; apply this knowledge to daily practice.
- Recognize situations requiring immediate intervention and continue professional development to provide care appropriate to each patient.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York with at least 1 year of experience.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred, as required by NYS for level 4 RN hires.
