Position: RN – Labor & Delivery
Location: Syracuse, NY
Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Nursery
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor & Delivery team in Syracuse, NY. This role requires strong clinical expertise in maternal-child health and the ability to provide comprehensive care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, adaptability, and commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based patient care in an acute care environment.

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients throughout the labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care continuum.

• Float between Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units based on unit needs.

• Circulate cesarean sections (required) and scrub cesarean sections (preferred).

• Perform comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments in acute care settings.

• Manage high-risk obstetric patients and respond effectively to obstetric emergencies.

• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and institutional protocols.

• Utilize Epic EMR for accurate documentation and care coordination (preferred).

• Provide patient and family education regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.

• Collaborate closely with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and multidisciplinary teams.

• Deliver safe, efficient nursing care with minimal orientation and supervision.

• Active New York State RN license.

• BLS (AHA) certification (current or eligible for recertification).

• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (within the last 2 years) in an acute care facility of comparable size and complexity.

• Experience circulating cesarean sections (required); scrubbing cesarean sections (preferred).

• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.

• Epic EMR experience.

• Experience in large hospitals or trauma centers (required for travelers).
