Licensure/Certification Requirements
Required:
## Current New York State licensure as a Registered Nurse Basic Life Support (BLS) Completion of Residency Syllabus in timeframe provided upon hire. Critical Care Nursing Requirements Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year Preferred:
Certification in a specialty area. #
Crouse Hospital's Emergency Department Nursing Academy offers a foundation for excellence and learning. We provide an in-depth twelve month orientation to the challenges and rewards of nursing practice in the Emergency Department.
The Academy experience includes:
o Emergency Department shadowing experience with an ED RN
o Foundational Med Surg orientation to provide baseline nursing skills
o Online learning modules developed by the Emergency Nurses Association
o Wide variety of learning experiences to compliment ENA modules
o Six month ED Orientation with skilled ED preceptors and educators
o Ongoing feedback and evaluation
Education/Experience Requirements
Required:
