Base pay range
$50,000.00/yr - $63,000.00/yr
PurposeSupervises, coaches, and trains Production Associates to ensure efficient operation of machines through work planning and assignment, job set-up, material selection, tool, machine and facility maintenance and problem solving.
Essential Functions- LMA – leads, manages, and holds accountable all direct reports.
- Monitors efficiency and productivity to ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
- Provides training on equipment.
- Provides hands-on troubleshooting assistance.
- Communicates the daily schedule with first shift at shift change and via email.
- Conducts regular coaching (formal and JIT).
- Meets or exceeds department KPI’s.
- Ensures safety, quality, efficiency, and 5S compliance.
- Facilitates continuous improvement processes to create efficiency and reduce costs.
- Effectively utilizes MRP software for planning and scheduling.
- Sets up jobs in accordance with departmental needs to ensure maximum efficiency and quality.
- Limits job write-offs with regard to material and equipment usage.
- Ensures that all materials are available and ready for fabrication at the machine location.
- Performs first-piece inspection for all new fabrication runs, when necessary.
- Ensures that dies are maintained and stored properly; moves dies between equipment and die racks.
- Ensures that preventive maintenance is current and performs maintenance functions as necessary.
- Provides guidance and direction as a resource for others throughout the shop.
- Enforces safety policies and practices to ensure a culture of health and safety; identifies safety hazards and works with the management team on corrective actions.
- Associate's degree (AA) in a technical discipline and 1-2 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency working in a computer-supported environment with business software and Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, use simple math, and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
- Mechanical/technical aptitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities, workflow, and multitask.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
