Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Responsible for supporting the day‑day operations of a fast‑paced packaging manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in conducting, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. This role requires applying strong knowledge of electromechanical principles to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore functionality across all areas of manufacturing.
Work Schedule- 1st Shift: Mondays‑Fridays; 5:00AM-1:30PM
- $30.00 – $40.00 per hour, quarterly bonuses
- Strictly adhere to all established safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Enforce lockout/tagout practices and machine safety guidelines during maintenance and operations.
- Train and mentor associates through coaching and technical guidance.
- Oversee and assign daily maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, equipment breakdowns, and inventory management.
- Schedule and perform preventative maintenance tasks such as inspections, calibrations, safety checks, and component replacement.
- Dismantle and reassemble complex machinery including motors, conveyor systems, folder gluers, presses, banders, bundlers, and printing equipment.
- Continuously build knowledge of machine functions and support systems that impact production efficiency.
- Procure necessary parts and components within designated authority, balancing quality, cost‑efficiency, and operational requirements.
- Modify equipment and work spaces to improve safety and efficiency, including constructing platforms, guards, and structural enhancements.
- Upgrade and adjust machinery and safety guarding systems to meet compliance and promote a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with production staff, providing coaching on machine usage and safety best practices.
- Partner with departments to support smooth operation and order fulfillment.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Mechanical:
Demonstrated proficiency in maintaining and repairing complex mechanical systems, with a strong understanding of industrial machinery, hydraulic components, and pneumatic operations. - Electrical:
Advanced capabilities in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, including wiring, control panels, and automation technologies. Skilled in interpreting and resolving circuit issues to ensure optimal functionality and safety. - Blueprint Reading:
Ability to accurately read, analyze, and apply technical documentation including blueprints, engineering schematics, and detailed mechanical drawings to facilitate effective maintenance and repairs. - Equipment Maintenance:
Experienced in conducting preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of machinery and equipment. Skilled in identifying faults, implementing timely repairs, and ensuring long‑term reliability and operational efficiency.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience performing maintenance on industrial and manufacturing machinery
- 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a technical or maintenance capacity.
- Certified forklift operator with demonstrated safe and effective use of material handling equipment
- Proficient in welding techniques for repair and fabrication tasks
- Valid Electrical License required
- Previous electrical maintenance experience in industrial or manufacturing setting
- Completion of technical or vocational school preferred, with emphasis on industrial maintenance or electrical systems
- Computer experience/operation and PLC Programming
- Ability to maintain various manufacturing equipment, follow specific directions, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes
