Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Pattern Maker (Metal)to join our team on 1st Shiftin Syracuse, NY. This role involves creating, assembling, and modifying patterns, core boxes, and permanent molds made from a variety of materials. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on machining, finishing, and CNC programming skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, lay out, and perform a variety of complex hand-finishing operationson rough castings to be used as patterns, core boxes, or permanent molds.
- Fabricate or build-uppatterns, core boxes, and molds using various materials.
- Lay out, align, and fasten split sections to create cope and drag plates.
- Perform intricate layout work to establish inter-relationships of dimensions, including interim dimensions not shown on prints.
- Set up and operate all types of machine tools, including both conventional and CNC machines.
- Program CNC softwareusing Solid Works or Mastercam as needed.
- Perform detailed hand and bench operations including fitting, polishing, and scraping.
- Make allowances for draft, shrinkage, and finishin pattern making.
- Detect and report any errors in prints or specifications.
- Create templates as needed.
- Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)activities such as cleaning, inspection, minor lubrication, and tightening.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of Journeyman-level Patternmaker experienceOR a Journeyman license.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.now and in the future without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Solid Works and Mastercam.
- At least 2 years of CNC programming experience.
