Reports To: Executive Director

Starting Salary: $80,000

Job Description

The Finance Director supports the Executive Director and Deputy Director in leading all financial systems of SNCC including vouchering/invoicing, payment of bills, and budgeting, works with closely with SNCC’s accountants and auditor, assists with payroll, and supervises the Finance Associate.

The Finance Director will be an extremely well organized professional able to collaborate with and serve the functions required by the Executive Director to maintain financial accountability, fidelity, and transparency. Further, this person will be creative in developing systems that make finance operations more efficient and comprehensive.

NEHDA, Inc. is an affiliate of SNCC and its operations are led by SNCC’s Executive and Deputy Directors. Management of all NEHDA financial systems will be the responsibility of the Finance Director.

NYS required PTO for 90 days; 150 hours PTO annually (prorated) after 90 days

SNCC contributes 4% and up to 1% match to 401(k) from date of hire, vesting after 1 year of employment

Essential

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Financial management, reporting, and grants compliance

Collaborate with Executive Director on management of grants, funding, banking and other financial systems to ensure accountability and transparency

Collaborate with accounting and audit firms for accountability and transparency

Assist Executive Director in budgeting

Assist Executive Director in managing the facility

Assist Executive Director with Board of Directors’ meetings and documentation, and Finance Committee

Other duties as assigned by Executive and Deputy Directors

Will require attendance at meetings outside 9-5 hours on occasion

Supervisory Duties

The Finance Director directly supervises all other Finance Personnel

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements listed represent necessary abilities and skills. Modifications may be made to enable all individuals to perform the essential functions.

Nonprofit Finance experience at an organization of comparable size required

Extensive expertise with Quick Books Online and Excel required

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting preferred

Significant finance experience at an organization of similar size required

Syracuse City resident with strong community connections preferred

Ability to self-direct, manage and prioritize tasks, and manage time required

Extensive Mathematical Skills Required

Professional, welcoming, compassionate demeanor required

Supervisory Experience Preferred

Certificates And Licenses

Valid and clean NYS driver's license

Able to pass criminal and DMV check upon hire

Equipment, Machines And Software Used

Regular use of computer, copier, phone, MS Office, Quick Books, Salesforce, and other software

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Ability to travel throughout service area, occasional exposure to outside weather

Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and to attend meetings
