Position Description
VIP Structures is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Technician to support our residential properties. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their hands-on skills in facilities maintenance, whether you are early in your career or bring experience from residential property maintenance, construction, or skilled trades.
The Maintenance Technician works under the guidance of the Facilities Maintenance Superintendent, supporting the upkeep, repair, and overall condition of residential units and common areas.
This role requires not only technical ability, but professionalism, accountability, and strong interpersonal skills when interacting with residents.
Essential Functions- Perform general repairs including drywall and ceiling repairs, painting, and basic appliance maintenance.
- Assist with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing troubleshooting for basic repairs (under supervision as needed).
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Support year-round grounds maintenance and property upkeep.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with tenants, vendors, and team members.
- Remain solution-focused and calm when addressing resident concerns.
- Maintain preventive maintenance logs.
- Conduct other maintenance tasks as needed.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound judgment.
- Proficient with technology such as mobile phones, laptops, email, and energy management software.
