Position Overview
St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting applications for several positions of Caretaker I (Housekeeper). Caretaker I is a skilled position in housekeeping and minor maintenance trades.
Responsibilities- Vacuuming
- Moving furniture
- Stripping and waxing floors
- Setting up for College functions
- Changing light bulbs
- Assisting in grounds as needed
- Following oral and written instructions
- Lifting heavy items (furniture or equipment)
- Working overtime/weekends as required
- Reliable and punctual performance
- Two years of experience in cleaning or housekeeping field
- Valid Maryland driver’s license
- Preferred: previous custodial experience or training
- Success in criminal background check required
Annual salary is $35,570 with an excellent benefits package that includes 18 paid holidays, 12 days vacation, 3 paid personal days, health benefit and prescription plans, pension plan, and tuition waiver plan.
