Reports to the PUE I Duty Engineer who reports directly to the PUE 2 and will be responsible for performing a variety of semiskilled activities in the operation and maintenance of stationary equipment and systems. Perform professional maintenance services on areas used by patients, guests, visitors and customers within the University's downtown campus facilities. Must be able to bend, lift, climb walk, stand and stoop for long periods of 60, and perform moderate to heavy lifting.
Person must be free of facial hair or beard that may interfere with the fit or seal of a mask respirator at point of fit test. Such a mask must be worn in order to comply with State and Federal Safety Health Codes. Reassignment offers are contingent upon satisfactory evaluation from Environmental Health and Safety.
Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver's license.
Minimum Qualifications:For consideration for this title, you must meet one of the following minimum qualifications:
New York State Department of Civil Service Eligible List or eligible for transfer.
Or
Open-competitive (Non-competitive, NY HELPS)
Qualifications:
1.
An associate’s degree in HVAC.
Or, 2.
One year of full-time hands on experience in maintenance and operation of commercial, industrial, institutional facility, computer applications of digital energy platforms and building analytics and/or performing diagnosis, repair of HVAC systems or boilers or auxiliary equipment;
Or, 3.
One year of full-time hands on experience in residential setting performing diagnosis, operation, maintenance repair of HVAC systems or boilers or auxiliary equipment;
Or, 4.
Completion of an HVAC certificate or program (440 hours) OR completion of an approved certificate in HVAC, electrical refrigeration, boiler operations and maintenance, or plumbing from an accredited technical school or technology college.
Work Days:
Evening/Weekend or Night/Weekend shifts available.
This title is eligible for Overtime Pay.

Salary: $41,399
Shift Differential: 7% on Evening/Weekend and 10% on Night/Weekend
