Senior Commercial General Liability (CGL) Adjuster - The Hanover Group

  • Pay:
    Target compensation is $85,000 - $95,000 per year, with a general bonus structure.
  • Work Setting:
    This is a fully remote opportunity, but candidates in Worcester, MA, Richmond, VA, Syracuse, NY, or the Detroit area (Howell, MI / Southfield, MI) are also of interest.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CGL Adjuster to join our team at The Hanover Group. This is a remote role, ideal for a seasoned professional with over 10 years of CGL experience who may be looking for improved work-life balance and flexibility. You'll be part of a team committed to excellence, handling complex claims from initial intake through final resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Claims Investigation:
    Manage and evaluate a diverse range of claims, including those for bodily injury, property damage, products and completed operations, and personal and advertising injury.
  • Conduct Coverage Analysis:
    Perform detailed policy interpretation to determine coverage for new claims, navigating ambiguous or complex scenarios. We are looking for candidates with direct carrier experience and strong coverage analysis skills, not just long-term TPA experience.
  • Strategic Resolution:
    Identify potential red flags, conduct thorough root cause evaluations, and negotiate settlements with multiple stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Communication:
    Write clear, legally sound, and detailed coverage position letters and claim reports.
  • Maintain Workload:
    Efficiently manage your claims volume and prevent stress through strong time management and technical proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    A minimum of 5 years of CGL experience is required to be considered at the senior level.
  • Licensing: A valid Adjuster License is a must-have.
  • Skills:

    Proficiency in claims investigation, policy interpretation, negotiation, and tech platforms is essential.
  • Education:

    Work experience (5-7 years) may override the need for a formal degree.
