The Business Systems Analyst III performs systems analysis assignments with varying degrees of supervision. The Business Systems Analyst III also provides complex technical business support to clients that utilize small/midsize/enterprise level systems.

• Collaborate with business lines to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
• Write detailed business and functional specifications for internal and external system interfaces.
• Lead requirements workshops and create artifacts such as data flow diagrams, process models, and message mapping documents.
• Define and document BDD‑style requirements with precise acceptance criteria to guide development and validation.
• Translate internal business needs into clear deliverables and contractual language for vendors.
• Partner with vendors, solution designers, and engineers to align on design, API behaviours, data formats, and exception handling.
• Assist in testing efforts through scenario definition, defect triage, and requirements traceability.
• Provide business context and analysis support during investigation of production issues.
• Ensure all work aligns with internal ITIL‑based change and release management processes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of templates, standards, and integration documentation practices.

• 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with direct involvement in system build and integration projects.
• 3+ years of experience in the Trade Finance and Working Capital business domain.
• Strong understanding of how systems and integrations support banking workflows.
• Experience working with a mix of integrations types: APIs, batch file transfers, and message queues.
• Familiarity with tools like Postman to test or inspect APIs and review Json/XML payloads.
• Knowledge of mainframe integration patterns, including batch processing and flat file exchanges.
• Comfort reading system logs and assisting with root cause analysis in support of Level 3 investigations.
• Experience with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Strong documentation skills, especially with BDD‑style requirements and vendor‑facing specifications.
• Working knowledge of ITIL processes and change management practices in enterprise environments.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Service Now, or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.

• Communicates with programmers to ensure understanding of business processes and requirements of the users. Works with programmers to ensure that the delivered system matches the specified features and functions.
• Assesses available technologies recommending innovative and cost‑effective solutions.
• Analyzes business challenges and recommends appropriate IT solutions and services.
• Maps current business processes to new systems and supports the transition to the new solution.
• Determines interface requirements for effective system transition.
