Overview
This opportunity seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract role in Syracuse, NY, providing 1:1 nursing care within an elementary school setting. The position supports a first-grade, non-verbal student requiring skilled nursing care and academic supervision.
Responsibilities- Provide individualized nursing care including monitoring and cleaning of tracheostomy, suctioning, and feeding assistance.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) to support the student’s health and well-being.
- Supervise the student during elective classes outside the special education environment.
- Collaborate with educational staff to support academic progress.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment; note that aggressive behaviors are not present.
- Current RN licensure.
- Experience with tracheostomy care and suctioning procedures.
- Comfort working 1:1 with students requiring complex medical care.
- Ability to support ADLs and provide academic supervision.
- Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM.
- Early dismissal at 2:30 PM is possible if all duties are completed, with full-day pay applicability.

Syracuse, New York.
- Contract position with an anticipated start date to be determined before May 20, 2026.

Qualified candidates with pediatric nursing experience and an interest in school-based care are encouraged to apply. This role combines skilled nursing responsibilities with educational support in a collaborative setting. Compensation for this position ranges from $33.22 to $53.22.
