Care Registered Nurse School in Syracuse, NY

Overview

This opportunity seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract role in Syracuse, NY, providing 1:1 nursing care within an elementary school setting. The position supports a first-grade, non-verbal student requiring skilled nursing care and academic supervision.

• Provide individualized nursing care including monitoring and cleaning of tracheostomy, suctioning, and feeding assistance.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) to support the student’s health and well-being.
• Supervise the student during elective classes outside the special education environment.
• Collaborate with educational staff to support academic progress.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment; note that aggressive behaviors are not present.

• Current RN licensure.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and suctioning procedures.
• Comfort working 1:1 with students requiring complex medical care.
• Ability to support ADLs and provide academic supervision.
• Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

• Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM.
• Early dismissal at 2:30 PM is possible if all duties are completed, with full-day pay applicability.

Qualified candidates with pediatric nursing experience and an interest in school-based care are encouraged to apply.
