Patient Care Tech - Oncology & Complex Care

Shift: Night Shift

Description: 36 hours a week; 7:00pm - 7:30am. The schedule includes working every other weekend and holiday. Initial training is during the day.

Position Title: Patient Care Technician

Delivers direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. Performs tasks that do not require nursing judgments or administration of medications.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Phlebotomy and EKG. Is accountable for the patient care they deliver. Adheres to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center standards of care and practice.

• Deliver direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse.
• Perform tasks that do not require nursing judgments or administration of medications.
• Phlebotomy and EKG duties among others listed in the role scope.
• Adhere to hospital standards of care and practice.

Required: High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Medical background, mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.

Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.

Current BLS/CPR certification and First Aid training provided upon hire

Office/Clinical setting. Exposure class I.

Heavy work: requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying.

Pay Range: $17.25 - $25.00

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
