Responsible for performing chart abstraction, analysis, dashboard, and data entry, and gemba walk specialist. All of these are done to support sepsis quality improvement initiatives as well as other general initiatives across the quality department of Upstate University Hospital. This position involves daily retrospective and concurrent chart review as well as rounding to capture necessary clinical and administrative data for quality reporting purposes and improvement.
This data will be entered into computerized databases and reports and analyzed for identification of performance improvement opportunities as well as compliance trends. These opportunities will be reported back to all required departments and stakeholders for quality improvement.
Bachelor s degree in nursing and 3 years of related healthcare work experience, or associates degree in nursing and 5 years of related healthcare work experience. NYS license as a registered professional nurse. White belt in Lean Six Sigma training required. Excellent written/oral communication and customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, strong data analysis skills, excellent organizational skills, and excellent computer skills are required.
Demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage assigned duties/responsibilities within established time frames while maintaining confidentiality.
Yellow belt and Green belt in Lean Six Sigma preferred or obtained within 18 months of hire.
