Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Emergency Department
Location: Syracuse, NY (13210)
Job Type: Contract | Local Only (within 50-mile radius)
Shift: Night Shift - 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Pay Rate: $64-$70 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Emergency Department to provide high-quality emergency care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This role requires strong pediatric emergency experience, excellent triage skills, and the ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal orientation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver emergency nursing care to pediatric patients
- Perform rapid assessments and prioritize care using formal triage protocols
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to emergent situations
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Accurately document patient care in electronic medical records
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices
- Provide compassionate, family-centered emergency care
Licensure &
Certifications:
- Current and active New York State RN license
- BLS certification (current or eligible for recertification)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric Emergency Department experience (within past 2 years)
- Majority of experience must be in Pediatric ED (Adult ED experience is a plus)
- Candidates with only combined Adult/Peds ED experience will not be considered
- Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Formal triage training with strong triage skills required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
