Job Summary:
The Pathology Laboratory Support position performs specimen receipt functions for laboratory and delivery of specimens to pathologists. Assists with pathology send outs and accessions cases. Organizes courier pickup and delivery of specimens. Assists with specimen pickup and drop off to other departments, as needed. Greets and assists visitors to Pathology, answers phone calls, prints reports and scans/files documents. Assists with the management of materials in the pathology slide room, which includes filing slides and collecting Pathology materials to fulfill send out requests.
Other duties as assigned.
Associates degree (preferably in a relevant medical field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Ability to distinguish colors required.
Preferred Qualifications:Prior clinical laboratory experience, and NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician preferred.
Work Days:M-F 8:30-5:00
