Responsibilities- Properly prepares patient for exam through accurate verification of patient history and reason for referral.
- Thoroughly analyzes information or previous test results to clarify the information requested by the ultrasound examination.
- Confidently selects suitable equipment to produce the best quality exam, including selecting the correct transducer and frequency.
- Competently performs diagnostic quality exams with the ability to accurately image, label, measure, demonstrate normal or abnormal anatomy, and record data pertinent to the exam.
- Diligently performs portable sonography at bedside when required.
- Prepares test results for analysis in an organized and timely manner.
- Promptly reports equipment malfunctions to the department supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree or certificate from an accredited sonography program or graduate of a diagnostic medical sonography program accredited by the AMA Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA competency assessment).
- RDMS mandatory or eligible to sit for boards upon hire date; completion of designation within one (1) year if not already registered.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire or within two (2) weeks after hire.
