Position OverviewThe Patient Service Representative provides secretarial and phone support for the organization utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills. The role involves correctly obtaining and entering patient information, patient scheduling, filing, managing electronic and phone messages, tracking referrals, handling patient balances and charge entry within the electronic medical record (EMR), managing mail, clerical inventory, copying, and answering a high volume of incoming calls from patients.
This position works with providers, managers and staff to promote quality and cost‑effective daily operations, and maintains good interpersonal relationships with patients, families, the public and co‑workers.
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare
- Team‑player experience
- Proficient computer use
- Certified Medical Assistant or healthcare related Associate’s Degree
- Interpersonal and intra‑professional competence
- Acute care patient management/organization skills
- Commitment to collaboration with physicians to individualize and enhance patient care
- Medical billing experience
- Knowledge of Medent or other EMR systems
Salary Range: $15.50 – $20.00 per hour
