Overview

At Helio Health, we’re dedicated to transforming lives by treating and promoting recovery from substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral health issues. We’re looking for passionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health/Substance Use Disorder Clinicians to join our Open Access team and make a real difference in our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).

Position Details:
If you are a clinician that excels in a fast‑paced team environment and can quickly engage clients for effective assessment and determination of clinical needs, we encourage you to apply. This position works within a team of counselors, peers, nurses, case managers, and mental health and substance use treatment professionals, providing initial assessments of children and adults seeking behavioral health services.

While this position does not require the clinician to carry a caseload, this option is available. Supervision required for NYS license/certification is provided at no cost to Helio Health employees.

Position Details
  • Pay: $29.00 to $33.81/hr.
  • Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with some evenings.
  • Sign‑On incentive up to $8,000 depending on licensure.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct screenings and assessments for clients seeking treatment for mental health, substance use, or co‑occurring disorders.
  • Perform essential counseling and therapy tasks, including intake, evaluation, intervention, goal setting, discharge planning, referrals, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation.
  • Coordinate and refer clients to appropriate care levels through internal and external community resources.
  • Provide crisis intervention and collaborate with crisis support systems.
  • Navigate individual, family, and group dynamics during assessments.
  • Assist in training staff and student interns.
Qualifications
  • Certifications/Licensure: LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, LCAT, LMFT or permit eligible.
  • Requirements:
    Valid New York State Driver License and reliable transportation.
  • Experience:

    Two years in the Human Services field working with co‑occurring MH/SUD disorders, high‑risk populations, or individuals with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) preferred.
  • Skills:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel), EHR/EMRs (e.g., Avatar, Netsmart, Epic), and Health Monitoring Systems (e.g., OASAS CDS, Health

    EConnections, PSYCKES).
  • Education:

    Master’s degree preferred; bachelor’s degree required.
