Utilizing innovative methods to identify patients who may benefit from treatment, we must take a highly strategic approach to patient access while assisting patients and their caregivers to navigate the healthcare system.
The Rare Disease Healthcare Director (RD HD) is responsible for leading a cross functional team focused on supporting patients, caregivers, HCP and advocacy needs holistically within the Neurological Rare Disease (NRD) and Rare Blood Disorder (RBD) communities. The RD HD ensures both clinical and access questions are compliantly addressed for patients, caregivers and HCP accounts including other geographically aligned stakeholders (e.g., social workers, genetic counselors, health systems) to provide safe and effective patient care.
Success requires balancing the needs of multiple products, stakeholders and team member responsibilities based on local account and geography needs. They will strategically manage business opportunities, lead highly integrated teams while maintaining individual customer accountabilities. The Field Incentive Compensation plan drivers include Individual Measures (IMs).
This is a field based role
, it will cover Upstate NY, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. It is preferred that candidates live in this area for consideration.
The RD HD leads and coaches roles across two therapeutic areas: the RBD team and the NRD team. The roles on these teams include:
- RBD Account Managers:

- Deeply understand the unique needs of each customer in their pursuit of improved patient outcomes. Lead the team to support brand goals and targets by working with Brand Marketing, Sales Operations, Specialty Pharmacies, Commercial Training & Development, and Access Solutions, among others.
- Contribute to short-term priorities and long-term strategic vision in the local ecosystem, engaging in partnerships that improve customer experience, patient outcomes and business opportunities. Contribute to national therapeutic area strategies by sharing local insights and priorities.
- Lead the development and execution of customer account planning for target accounts to deliver maximum impact opportunities.
- Build, lead and motivate a diverse team with deep functional and therapeutic area expertise. With the ecosystem leadership team, harness the collective expertise of the ecosystem team to engage effectively and compliantly. Foster a culture that enables employees at all levels to live our Operating Principles.
- The RD HD could have portfolio account management and/or payer responsibilities based on ecosystem needs. This will be assessed case-by-case to determine what’s best for customers and patients.
- The RD HD will report to and be aligned to the Upstate NY Ecosystem and will collaborate with the West and East New England Ecosystem Leadership Teams on Rare Disease needs.
This is a field-based position covering Upstate NY, VT, ME, NH, MA, RI, and CT. Relocation benefits are not available for this role. Overnight travel may be required and it may involve driving a company-provided or personal vehicle.
Who You AreRequired Qualifications:
