- 5×8-hour shifts
- Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Schedule Pattern: Rotational coverage within the Emergency Department Float Pool
We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support an Emergency Department Float Pool in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role requires flexibility, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to provide high-quality patient-centered care across multiple emergency care settings. Level I Trauma experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department
- Obtain and record vital signs accurately and promptly
- Assist patients with toileting, bathing, feeding, and mobility based on assignment
- Serve as a safety companion for patients identified as safety risks
- Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development across age groups
- Respond effectively to changing patient conditions and needs
- Communicate clearly and professionally with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive patient care environment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based activities
- Accurately obtain, record, exchange, and convey patient information
- Uphold ethical standards and patient confidentiality
- Maintain positive public relations and professional conduct
- Actively participate in personal and professional development
- Current New York State CNA certification
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of patient care experience
- Ability to pass all pre-employment health clearance requirements
- Prior experience in an Emergency Department
- Level I Trauma Center experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Attention to patient safety, dignity, and quality of care
