This Clinical Social Work position will be located within a Syracuse City School to provide direct patient care for the diverse population of its students and families within the Syracuse City School District. Duties will include providing comprehensive care through assessment, psychotherapy with individuals, families, and groups, and referral to outside services as needed. Using a wide range of interventions and treatment modalities, the Social Worker contributes to the achievement of optimum health, satisfaction, and cost-effective care by addressing the behavioral, social, and environmental issues that may impede care.
Minimum Qualifications:L.M.S.W., L.C.S.W. or eligible, 3 years relevant post-master's experience (preferably in a hospital and/or healthcare environment) required. New M.S.W. graduates who are L.M.S.W. eligible will be considered for appointment to entry level (SL2) position at a commensurate salary after obtaining a Limited Permit. Incumbent must obtain L.M.S.W. within 12 months of receipt of limited permit.
Preferred Qualifications:- Extensive experience in conducting comprehensive psychological assessment/psychotherapy with school-based population.
- Extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessment/psychotherapy with BIPOC children and adolescents, children and adolescents who are generation Americans.
- Experience consulting with the school about students who are presenting with severe mental concerns
- Demonstrated experience in working with BIPOC through training, research, and clinical work.
- Demonstrated experience in working from a trauma-informed treatment modality.
