Full-Time | Finance Department
Pay Range: $20–$30/hour (DOE). In-person position

The Rescue Mission is seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing for our employees while remaining compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role partners closely with Finance and HR and plays a key role in supporting employees who serve our community every day.

- Process bi-weekly payroll using a third-party system (Paycor)
- Maintain employee payroll records, with holdings, accruals, and time policies
- Resolve timecard and payroll exceptions and balance payroll registers
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and benefit/garnishment reconciliations
- Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and outside agencies
- Assist Accounts Payable with data entry and record keeping
- Maintain payroll policies and support audits and special projects as needed
- Provide cross-coverage within Accounting and maintain regular in-person attendance
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Minimum two (2) years of payroll, accounting, or finance experience
- Experience with payroll systems (Paycor, ADP, Paychex, or similar)
- Strong math, organization, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred: Knowledge of garnishments, benefits, overtime, payroll laws; FPC or CPP certification (not required)
