- Design building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems
- Assess existing site conditions and oversee field measurements
- Collaborate with clients to define project objectives, requirements, and available resources
- Conduct code analysis and ensure design compliance with applicable regulations
- Define and manage the engineering scope, budget, and schedule for each project
- Develop and coordinate Revit models using existing plans, documentation, and surveys
- Prepare engineering contract documents and calculations using CAD tools and electrical design software
- Select appropriate materials, equipment, and system components
- Review and verify technical accuracy and coordination of project documentation
- Develop project specifications and supporting documents
- Perform material quantity take-offs and assist in preparing cost estimates
- Stay current with electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices
- Review construction submittals for compliance with design intent
- Conduct periodic site visits during construction to monitor work and ensure adherence to construction documents
- 5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering design within the architecture/engineering industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; EIT certification required with active participation in a licensure development program
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for electrical design is required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of the International Building Code
- Project management and/or team leadership experience is a plus
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens and may be subject to government security clearance requirements for access to classified information
