We are seeking a qualified Senior Electrical Power Engineer to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Owner’s Engineer and/or Advisor.

Responsibilities
  • Lead utility-scale power generation design projects and support in a traditional Owner’s Engineer role.
  • Lead power generation design, including protection and motor control design, power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance-of-plant designs such as raceway, lighting, and grounding.
  • Mentor engineers, manage client relationships, and lead marketing activities including proposal writing, fee builds, and work breakdown structure development in response to requests for proposals.
  • Perform design and engineer-of-record work for power plant systems; travel for client meetings and project site visits is expected to be less than 10%.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design.
  • Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation.
  • Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm is desired.
  • Excellent communication, written and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, lead a multi-discipline consulting team, or lead a small team.
  • Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design and settings development, system grounding, and experience with lighting, instrumentation and control, and life-safety systems.
  • Work with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews with management as needed.
  • Direct the activities of other engineering professionals and mentor staff members as needed.
  • Travel expectation of less than 10% for meetings with clients and vendors and site visits.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience
  • Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license
  • Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPIPE, and Revit)

Compensation

The targeted salary range for this position (based on experience and location) is $108,661 - $204,250;
New Jersey: $131,537 - $204,250.
