Role Overview

Senior Project Engineer – Energy

Transform complex customer requirements into actionable, data‑driven solutions across HVAC, controls, central plant optimization, and integrated energy systems. Lead projects from concept through design, pricing, and performance validation, leveraging modeling, analytics, and real‑world constructability to deliver technically sound, financially viable, field‑executable solutions. Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to protect margin, reduce risk, and deliver high‑performance building outcomes. Mentor and communicate to elevate project delivery and team capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects from early concept through design, pricing, and performance validation.
  • Apply energy modeling, load studies, and building analytics to develop performance guarantees and feasibility studies.
  • Ensure constructability, cost, lifecycle value, and performance risk are addressed in engineering designs.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams (Sales, Engineering, Operations) to optimize project delivery.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and communicate with customers and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree required;
    Bachelor’s preferred in engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience delivering building infrastructure, energy efficiency, or distributed energy resource projects.
  • Experience leading technical teams and managing cross‑functional coordination.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PE, LEED AP) highly desirable.
  • Expert knowledge of HVAC systems, central plant optimization, building automation controls, and load studies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry software tools for modeling, analytics, and design.
  • Strong knowledge of codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Technical Skills
  • Energy modeling, building analytics, load studies, utility consumption analysis.
  • HVAC systems, central plant optimization, building automation controls.
  • Performance guarantees, feasibility studies, and detailed design documentation.
  • Understanding of M&V practices and IPMVP protocols.
  • Engineering design evaluation for constructability, cost, lifecycle value, and risk.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Mentor junior engineers and influence cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong customer‑facing communication skills.
  • Translate technical value into business outcomes for customers and stakeholders.

Compensation

Competitive salary range: $85,000 – $125,000 (subject to market data and candidate qualifications).
