Job Description:

The Residence Life Engagement Coordinator plays an integral role in enhancing all students' collegiate experience. They are responsible for the creation and management of an ongoing series of social and educational engagement opportunities for the students residing on campus. The Residential Life Engagement Coordinator will interface with campus constituents, support institutional directives, and represent the Office of Students' Rights, Responsibilities, and Residence Life, as well as the Division of Student Affairs, on various committees.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, coordinate, and help deliver a comprehensive, flexible suite of engagement events and programs for the residential student environment.
  • Support the Resident Assistants in their programming efforts, which may include assisting them in program development and implementation.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of the Onondaga Community College Residence Hall Association, including the recruiting and advising of this organization.
  • Maintains community presence and actively foster connections with residents in the community.
  • Organizes and maintain inventory of programming resources/supplies.
  • Support and participate in all residence-wide programs and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned within scope of job responsibilities.


Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, university, or foreign equivalency.
  • Two years of professional experience leading engagement initiatives in higher education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four years of professional experience in Higher Education.
  • Community College experience.
  • Experience working within diverse populations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with peers and interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of disadvantaged students
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal and departmental development, professionalism, multicultural education, creativity, collaboration, and initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritize among competing needs
  • Ability to utilize assessment to guide initiative development
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and sensitive manner
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse student population, parents and staff
  • Possess a willingness to take initiative on new projects and embrace change

  • Salary range is:$44,,commensurate with credentials and relevant experience.
