Job Description:

Job Description Summary:

Onondaga Community College is accepting applications for skilled adjunct instructors to teach Psychology.

Major Responsibilities:

  • College-level teaching of Psychology courses. The current need is for instructors to teach PSY
    103 General Psychology especially day/afternoon time slots.
  • Preparing and presenting lectures.
  • Meeting with students as needed to answer questions.
  • Responding to student queries (e.g. email or voice mail) as needed, in a reasonably timely manner.
  • Writing, administering, and grading all student assignments and exams.
  • Computing grades and submitting them on time.


Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree or higher in Psychology or qualifying field from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong candidates will have some experience teaching at the community college level and working with diverse populations of students, especially underrepresented students.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Product suite.

  • Offers are contingent onthe completion of a post-offer background check, and official transcripts are required upon hire.


Application Instructions:

  • Adjunct rate of pay for the 25/26academic year is $1,483/credit hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment.
  • Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System.
