Falk College of Sport invites applications for an Open Rank faculty position in Exercise Science to begin in August 2026 (tenure-track Assistant Professor, tenured Associate Professor, or tenured Full Professor). The Falk College of Sport is the nation’s first and only college at a Carnegie R1 (very high research activity) university focused exclusively on sport-related disciplines. This reflects Syracuse University’s strategic commitment and Falk College’s strategic priorities to sport as a focal point for interdisciplinary scholarship, innovative academic programs, and transformative student experiences.
Range Per Rank
- Assistant Professor: $80,000 – $115,000
- Associate Professor: $90,000 – $150,000
- Full Professor: $130,000 – $175,000
- Earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Health & Human Performance, or related fields.
- Demonstrated research productivity and scholarly impact appropriate to rank.
- Demonstrated ability (or potential for Assistant Professor candidates) to secure external research funding.
- Conduct rigorous individual and collaborative research that advances exercise science scholarship and establishes or sustains national/international recognition
- Pursue external funding opportunities aligned with research expertise
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in exercise science
- Mentor graduate students
- Provide service to the department, college, university, and profession
- Engage actively with relevant scholarly communities and related industries
- Collaborate with academic units across the university
