Engaged Humanities Postdoctoral Fellowships.
Location:
Syracuse, NY. Pay: $64,000. Full‑time, exempt, two‑year appointment (July 16, 2026–July 15, 2028). Salary and benefits as described.
- PhD in a disciplinary or interdisciplinary humanities field, awarded between 2023 and June 2026.
- Scholarship combining research, teaching, and public engagement; interest in working with diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated scholarly excellence in the humanities.
- Experience fostering reciprocal campus‑community partnerships (e.g., libraries, community organizations, schools).
- Work that attends to social differences and structural disparities.
In residence Fellows will immerse in communities of practice to further research and deepen publicly engaged teaching. Fellows will:
- Advance research agenda; offer annual workshop or presentation to the wider University community.
- Teach one Engaged Humanities course a year, incorporating participatory, digital, and/or public engagement methods. The course may contribute to a humanities department or interdisciplinary program in Arts and Sciences.
- Participate in Humanities Center research support offerings and Engaged Communities initiative.
