Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY, is a college of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and one of 30 locally sponsored community colleges throughout New York State. Onondaga County is our sponsor. We offer two-year degree programs that serve as transfer opportunities to baccalaureate degree programs at four-year campuses or for direct entry to the workforce. We also offer certificate programs that can generally be completed in one year.

The Financial Aid Student Assistant works with the Financial Aid staff to provide customer service and support to students throughout the financial aid application process.
Duties- Greeting and signing in parents and students for the Financial Aid Service Center
- Assisting students and parents with basic financial aid applications and procedures
- Answering basic questions during the financial aid application process
- Assisting Financial Aid with other office or administrative duties as assigned
- Take part in community service projects that give back and build connections off campus
- Must have a valid FAFSA on file
- Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA
- Must be matriculated into a program
- Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours)
- Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program
- Previous experience providing customer service
- Ability to commit 10-12 hours per week during the semester (flexible)
- Punctual and Reliable
- Knowledge of OCC student log in procedures and Web Advisor
- Must be willing and able to travel off campus to support community volunteer initiatives
- Pay Rate: Starting rate of $15.50 for new Federal Work Studies.
- Pay Rate: Starting rate of $16.75 for returning Federal Work Studies.
- Hours of Operations: Monday-Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm
Federal Work Study may work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session.
