River Valley Holdings, the parent company, serves retail customers across the Northeastern United States with specialty dry and frozen grocery items and consumable products.

$20.00/hr – $22.00/hr

• In office (not remote) Sunday – Thursday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

The Customer Service Representative is dedicated to creating unparalleled customer experiences through accurate order processing, effective issue resolution, and knowledgeable responses to inquiries. The successful candidate can work in a fast‑paced environment, balance customer requests and deadlines, enter data quickly and accurately, and build lasting positive relationships with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service.

• Assist customers and company sales representatives through incoming calls, email, electronic data submissions, and postal mail communication
• Process customer orders and credits, including data entry and accuracy review
• Create and maintain documentation and reports to ensure smooth communication flow to various departments
• Build lasting customer relationships through positive communication and resolution of concerns
• Leverage knowledge of sales, logistics, and available products to provide reliable service and meet customer requirements
• Review exception reports and resolve issues and discrepancies prior to order processing
• Proactively recommend add‑ons and utilize a variety of available sales tools to enhance customer orders and increase account profitability
• Adhere to designated timelines for multiple daily inter‑departmental tasks
• Submit information to Accounting for timely credit processing
• Partner with the Sales and Transportation teams to coordinate delivery and customer support
• Resolve processing, shipping, and order conflicts; troubleshoot customer and driver concerns in order to meet service requirements
• Engage in customer support tasks as needed, including distribution of monthly price change tags and notices to customers
• Seamlessly handle numerous varied daily tasks
• Perform additional job duties as required

• Associate degree preferred or equivalent level of education and related experience
• At least two (2+) years of experience in a customer service role
• Proven customer service skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong data entry skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Established time‑management skills and demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines
• Ability to adapt and manage numerous, competing priorities
• Excellent collaboration, active listening, and interpersonal skills
