Location: City of Syracuse
Summer Camp Staff - East Syracuse and Syracuse Areas
ARISE/Exceptional Family Resources is looking for reliable and energetic staff for our summer day camp, supporting teens and young adults with developmental disabilities. We are hosting 2 sites in Onondaga County this summer in the East Syracuse and Syracuse areas. Our summer program, Project Explore, is provided for campers aged 13-30 in a 1:2 group setting. There are typically 8-10 campers and 4-5 staff each day of the program.
Schedule and locations
- Camp runs Monday through Friday.
- Staff hours are typically 11:30am - 5:30pm (except for Wednesdays, which run 8:30am-5:30pm to accommodate longer trips such as to Sea Breeze and Treman Falls).
- Camp runs June 29th - August 14th, with multiple trainings at the end of June.
What staff do
- Daily opportunities to swim, hike, play games, visit local parks and beaches, explore new locations, and build lasting friendships with campers.
Requirements and compensation
- No prior experience required; however, successful applicants must be energetic, outgoing, positive, and enjoy the outdoors.
- Staff are required to provide transportation for campers using their own vehicle and must have a valid driver s license; mileage is reimbursed at $0.725/mile.
- Positions start at $17/hr and increase based on years of experience.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by June 29, 2026.
Other
- Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.
