Job Summary:
Prepares and compiles information for reports and reviews forms for completeness and accuracy. Depending on the organizational unit, responsibilities may include billing duties such as posting charges or payments, researching and resolving issues, and processing insurance forms; or medical office duties such as maintaining patient forms and records, often using specialized software. Other general clerical/administrative tasks such as requisitioning supplies, answering phones, mail screening, and copying documents may also be required.
- Prepare and compile information for reports and reviews forms for completeness and accuracy.
- In the appropriate unit, perform billing duties such as posting charges or payments, researching and resolving issues, and processing insurance forms.
- Perform medical office duties such as maintaining patient forms and records, often using specialized software.
- Complete general clerical/administrative tasks such as requisitioning supplies, answering phones, screen mail, and copying documents.
- High School degree or equivalent and 2 years clerical support experience, preferably in a medical setting.
- Speed and accuracy required.
- Ability to work with only general supervision and maintain confidentiality.
- Familiarity with position-specific computer software applications.
- Previous experience in a family medicine practice.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems, preferably EPIC.
