Overview
Serves as the senior office support staff member, supervising lower-level staff. This role performs a wide range of clerical, administrative, and supervisory duties, including manual tasks related to sorting, receiving, staging, and issuing goods and materials/equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records for accounting, inventory control, and proof of deliveries. The position requires regular communication with the Manager and/or Director regarding staffing levels, transportation needs, and the availability of totes and flats to ensure efficient operations.
The Senior Distribution Center Assistant must be able to prioritize and process orders, stage orders for shipping, pick orders while meeting productivity standards of at least 350 lines per shift, and safely operate a forklift as required.

- Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Minimum Qualifications
- New York State Department of Civil Service Eligible List or eligible for transfer.
- Or Open Competitive (Non-competitive, NY HELPS)
Qualifications:
One year of clerical experience where the majority of work time is spent performing activities related to mail recipient, mail distribution, storage and stores keeping.

- Work Days:
Schedule based on a 37.5 hour work week. Sunday-Thursday 7:30am-3:30pm. Located at the Materials Management Warehouse.

- The NYS Department of Civil Service has expanded the NY HELPS Program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Office Assistant 2 (Stores/Mail), SG009 title.
