Position OverviewOverseas Military Sales Corporation is seeking a hands‑on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all financial functions of the organization. Reporting directly to senior leadership, the CFO will serve as a strategic partner while also maintaining ownership of day‑to‑day accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic financial leadership and operational accounting expertise within a mid‑market environment. Experience with inventory‑based businesses is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all accounting and finance operations, including general ledger, month‑end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Prepare and present timely, accurate monthly and annual financial statements to senior leadership.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and performance tracking.
- Manage inventory accounting, costing, and controls (inventory experience strongly preferred).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, tax, and reporting requirements.
- Oversee external relationships including auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other financial partners.
- Evaluate and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.
- Provide strategic financial insights to support operational and business decisions.
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting and finance staff.
- Support leadership with financial modeling, scenario analysis, and long‑term planning initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 10-15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including senior leadership responsibility.
- Prior experience as a CFO, Controller, or senior finance leader in a privately held or mid‑market company.
- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and cost accounting (highly preferred).
- Experience in a regulated, compliance‑driven environment a plus.
- Hands‑on leader comfortable operating both strategically and tactically.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
