Provide the highest level of innovation to customers by improving designs for manufacturing, profitability, performance, quality, and customer requirements on existing and new products; to provide design support on existing products to all departments; and supporting the evaluation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Bill of Materials (BOM) revisions to drive customer satisfaction and contribute to sales growth. Develop routine processes which require application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out production sustaining engineering duties, redesign of existing products and design of new products.
Four to six years related experience. Demonstrated business acumen and willingness to be team player. Able to draw on previous experience to solve design and development problems. Strong skills in writing technical reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to use mathematical tools including probability and statistics to identify, quantify, and resolve problems by collecting facts and drawing valid conclusions, and able to defend ideas or design alternatives using data and analysis.
Ability to utilize standard test and measurement equipment to quantify design margins and product problems. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from subordinates, peers, managers, and customers to promptly address their needs and follow-through on commitments. Perform with basic supervision and guidance, managing initiatives simultaneously, with the ability to drive assignments to successful conclusion. Consults with manager or senior team members concerning unusual problems or developments.
Understanding of new product development (NPD), product engineering, NPD experience with fluid control or pneumatics, and 3‑D CAD design experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of manufacturing environment with an APQP‑based (or similar) stage‑gate NPD process. Knowledge of Fluidic Systems desired.
