Qualifications
- 2‑year Associate Degree in Nursing from a state‑accredited school (Required)
- 4‑year Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a state‑accredited School of Professional Nursing (Preferred)
- 1-2 Years Nursing Experience (Preferred)
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current Georgia license (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
- Georgia Stroke Core Curriculum (GSCC) (Required)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or obtained within 1 year of hire (Required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire (Required)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire (Required)

- Uses results of quality improvement activities in nursing practice.
- Employs creativity and innovation to improve care delivery.
- Incorporates evidence-based knowledge to initiate practice change.
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
- Demonstrates competency in assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation of patients experiencing stroke or stroke-like symptoms.
- Provides appropriate stroke-related education to patients and/or family/caregivers.
- Is knowledgeable about stroke performance measures and their impact on patient outcomes.
- Coordinates multidisciplinary care of the stroke patient.
- Maintains at least 4 hours of stroke-related education annually.
- Adheres to hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the organization’s core values, mission and vision.
- Executes other duties as required and completes all job functions per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in relevant areas through ongoing education and training.
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-service trainings, competency evaluations, and other requirements on time.
- Demonstrates competency across all patient care scenarios, considering age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
- For non‑clinical areas, completes relevant training and utilizes appropriate customer‑service skills.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
