Position: RN Emergency Center Phoebe Worth (12PM - 12AM)

Qualifications

  • 2‑year Associate Degree in Nursing from a state‑accredited school (Required)
  • 4‑year Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a state‑accredited School of Professional Nursing (Preferred)
Work Experience
  • 1-2 Years Nursing Experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current Georgia license (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
  • Georgia Stroke Core Curriculum (GSCC) (Required)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or obtained within 1 year of hire (Required)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire (Required)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire (Required)

Care Planning and Implementation
  • Develops individualized plans with strategies that address diagnoses.
  • Ensures continuity through plans that direct other team members.
  • Implements the plan safely and timely.
  • Documents implementation and records changes or omissions in the plan.
  • Consults with healthcare providers and makes referrals as appropriate.
  • Utilizes community resources and systems to implement the plan.
Documentation
  • Documents and submits required information and data timely.
  • Accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc.
  • Ensures documentation is tailored to relevant readers or users.
  • Uses correct terminology.
  • Conforms to required style and format.
Outcomes and Evaluations
  • Develops expected outcomes to guide continuity of care.
  • Involves patient/family and other disciplines to determine expected outcomes.
  • Modifies expected outcomes based on changes in patient assessment.
  • Includes patient and others involved in care in the evaluation process.
  • Evaluates the plan relative to patient responses and expected outcomes, documenting the results.
Quality Improvement
  • Uses results of quality improvement activities in nursing practice.
  • Employs creativity and innovation to improve care delivery.
  • Incorporates evidence-based knowledge to initiate practice change.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities.
Neuroscience Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates competency in assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation of patients experiencing stroke or stroke-like symptoms.
  • Provides appropriate stroke-related education to patients and/or family/caregivers.
  • Is knowledgeable about stroke performance measures and their impact on patient outcomes.
  • Coordinates multidisciplinary care of the stroke patient.
  • Maintains at least 4 hours of stroke-related education annually.
Additional Duties
  • Adheres to hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the organization’s core values, mission and vision.
  • Executes other duties as required and completes all job functions per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge in relevant areas through ongoing education and training.
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-service trainings, competency evaluations, and other requirements on time.
  • Demonstrates competency across all patient care scenarios, considering age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • For non‑clinical areas, completes relevant training and utilizes appropriate customer‑service skills.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
