Job Description
Minimum Qualifications- Education Level: Master s Degree in school counseling required.

Principal
Performance Responsibilities- Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
- Plan, develop, and implement a comprehensive school counseling program based on the needs of the students and the school.
- Plan, develop, and implement action plans based on the needs of the students and the school.
- Provide school counseling, and individual counseling that relates to the academic, career, and personal/social development of students.
- Coordinate with school staff to provide supportive instructional classroom activities that relate to student academic, career, and personal/social development.
- Confer and counsel with parents, administrators, and teachers.
- Meets with students to review academic records.
- Facilitate the referral of students and parents to internal and external services.
- Collect and report on student outcomes from classroom guidance, small group, and individual consultations.
- Cooperate in compiling and maintaining appropriate student records.
- Work with registration and placement of new students and schedule changes.
- Evaluate transcripts of incoming and transferring students and keep appropriate records.
- Serve as a resource to homeroom advisors/teachers and assist in the homeroom advisement process, as appropriate.
- Assist in school-based scheduling for work-based learning students, as appropriate.
- Assist with administration of standardized group testing.
- Provide information to students and parents on career pathways and life development.
- Coordinate transitional activities with feeder schools.
- Reviews and interprets transcripts and test data for new students.
- Interpret standardized tests and state mandated tests.
- Protect confidentiality of student records and student information.
- Participate in school and district committees.
- Conduct and/or assist with parent meetings and education.
- Conduct and/or participate in professional learning.
- Demonstrate professional and ethical practice consistent with school and district policies in working with students, student records, parents, and colleagues.
- Carry out duties in accordance with federal and State laws, Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, and established State and local policies, regulations and practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
215-day position. Salary based on Board approved certified pay schedule.
EvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated annually by the principal or designee.
