Description

The function of this position is to:

  • Assist Clinical Coordinator/Primary Vaccine Coordinator with office activities and clinical education for medical assistants under the direction of the physicians and the schedules of the clinical staff.
  • Provide support to CNA’s and MOA’s in the clinical setting.
  • Prioritize incoming phone calls by assessing the caller’s symptoms and advising them in basic treatment or urges them to seek care in the office, emergency room or urgent care center.
  • Process prescription refills
  • Obtaining prior authorization for diagnostic imaging and medications
  • Support physicians by placing patient catheters, wound care, phlebotomy, PICC line care & other procedures
  • Assisting with the practice’s vaccine management for routine and emergency situations
  • Completing patient forms, patient 504B plans, letters of disability, IEP plans, homebound letters and other tasks that have to be completed by a RN.

The duties described herein are minimum standards and may be modified to meet the changing needs of the patient and our healthcare facilities at any time.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

  • Licensure:
    License as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Maintains BLS certification.
  • Work experience:

    Prefer two years of experience working in a physician’s office, but not required.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

    Must have the ability to work independently, have the ability to communicate effectively, good basic math skills and be computer literate. Familiarity with Word and Excel are strongly desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Extended periods of walking, standing, bending and stooping may be required. Requires manual dexterity and ability to see and hear as necessary for computer use. Ability to do repetitive work, keyboarding and writing. Ability to lift 25 pounds.
