Statement Of Primary Purpose
Assist Director of Public Relations in planning, development, and production of all advertising, event marketing, publications and promotional materials in support of enrollment, branding and institutional mission

Essential Functions And Responsibilities- Assist Director of Public Relations to ensure marketing tools (website, advertising, social media, etc.) are updated with current and accurate information at all times.
- Responsible for design, layout, and production of various printed and digital materials, graphics and electronic media for the college.
- Assist Director of Public Relations with developing and implementing the advertising component of the college’s comprehensive strategic marketing plan based on college goals and initiatives.
- Execute integrated internal marketing initiatives.
- Work with Director of Public Relations to explore new non-traditional marketing avenues.
- Prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Manage all internal print requests
- Manage all internal graphic design requests
- Assist with development of enrollment and fundraising campaigns
- Assist with development of social media posts
- QR Code development
- Meet production deadlines.
- Assist in development, maintenance and tracking of PR/Marketing budget.
- Maintain consistency of SCC image through all media.
- Oversee on-campus printing & production.
- Coordinate and manage off-campus printing.
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies necessary for on-campus printing needs.
- Cultivate and maintain an institutional relationship with various media outlets, printers, freelance artists, and community individuals and agencies.
- Take photographs for publications, news releases and documentation of special events, as needed.
- Laminate, trim, fold and/or spiral bind special projects as requested.
- Assist with special projects (such as banners, fair booths, celebrations, college events, and outdoor signs) as needed.
A.A.S. Advertising and Graphic Design required. Prefer Bachelor’s in related field.
Skills Knowledge and Skills- Two years of practical working experience in field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of desktop publishing and photography.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photo Shop, Illustrator) programs in a Windows/MAC environment.
- Possess ability to stay up-to-date and current on design trends and techniques.
- Possess skills to produce both print and electronic media.
- Demonstrate creativity and the ability to conceptualize.
- Possess attention to detail to assure accuracy of materials/media produced.
- Possess ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to use Google Mail, Drive, Sheets, Calendar, etc.
Ability to lift supplies. Ability to take on special projects such as fair booths, assembling banners. Walking through campus environment. Reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities as required by law.
Licensing RequirementValid N.C. driver’s license
Working Conditions and EnvironmentOn occasion, evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines. Some evening/weekend events.
Equipment OperationComputer, Scanner, Color Copier/Printer, Black & White Copier/Printer, Digital Camera, mini-vinyl cutter, Folder, Foot-operated Stapler, Laminator, Spiral Binder, thermal binder.
